Representatives of Ukraine and the United States may sign a security agreement in the near future.
The head of the Presidential Office, Andriy Yermak, on Monday, April 29, held the third round of negotiations with the United States on an agreement on security guarantees for Ukraine. The parties, in particular, noted significant progress, the press service of the President's Office reported.
According to Ermak, the recent approval of a $61 billion aid package to Ukraine by the United States has significantly accelerated the negotiation process. The head of the OP noted that the agreement could be signed in the near future.
“The parties substantively discussed the text of the draft agreement, noted significant progress in accordance with the main provisions of the document and adjusted the algorithm for further actions,” the OP noted.
Ermak also added that the agreement will help bring victory over the Russian aggressor closer and will lay the foundation for long-term cooperation between Ukraine and the United States in the field of defense.
