The Finnish carrier will not operate flights to the Estonian city until at least May 31.
It is noted that flights to the Estonian city will not take place until at least May 31, “in order to introduce an alternative approach solution at Tartu Airport that does not require a GPS signal.”
“GPS obstacles, which are quite common in this region, affect the usability of this approach method and can therefore prevent the aircraft from approaching and landing,” Finnair explained.
Passengers who have already booked flights to Tarth up to and including 31 May will be advised of alternative travel options.
It is worth noting that Finnair is the only airline operating international flights to Tartu.
