In Ukraine, 25% of fixed-line networks and thousands of mobile communication stations were damaged

As a result of Russian aggression in Ukraine, 25% of fixed-line communication networks were damaged, 4,300 mobile communication stations were destroyed or damaged, said Mikhail Fedorov, Deputy Prime Minister for Innovation, Minister of Digital Transformation.

“Today, 25% of fixed-line networks are damaged, and this is a fact. More than 4 thousand mobile communication stations have been destroyed or damaged,” Fedorov said at the presentation of digital communications until 2030 on Wednesday, May 15.

Among the risk factors affecting the telecommunications industry in Ukraine, he highlighted cyber attacks and the burden on operators due to the need to service large roaming traffic for almost 4 million Ukrainian refugees.
