In southern Germany, a passenger train derailed due to a landslide caused by heavy rains. No harm done.

In the city of Schwäbisch Gmünd, Baden-Württemberg, two carriages of an intercity train derailed late on Saturday due to a landslide caused by heavy rains. There were 185 passengers on the train at the time of the incident, none of them were injured.

A spokesman for the country's national railway operator said that passengers had been evacuated from the train. Due to flooding, the train was rerouted between the cities of Ulm and Stuttgart.

The first two cars of the train derailed but did not capsize, a railroad spokesman said. A car was also damaged, but the driver remained unharmed.
