It is noted that the reason was "philosophical differences" between Musk and Ramaswamy regarding the organization of the department's work.
"They shared a radical vision of shrinking government, but their strategies for achieving that goal differed and were ultimately incompatible," the article says.
According to journalists, Ramaswamy saw DOGE as a kind of analytical center that would be engaged in optimizing the structure of the US civil service, while Musk viewed the department's activities only from a technological point of view.
Last November, Donald Trump, who won the election as the head of the White House, announced that Elon Musk and Vivek Ramaswamy would head a new department for government efficiency. According to the American politician, the new department should focus on fighting bureaucracy, cutting costs and restructuring federal agencies.
Ramaswamy then announced cuts to a number of federal agencies .
"We expect massive layoffs in areas of the federal government that are bloated. We expect massive layoffs among federal contractors and others who are overbilling the federal government," he promised.
