Lukashenko: The Oreshnik Complex Will Appear in Belarus Any Day Now

He noted that these weapons will be placed closer to Smolensk.

At the beginning of last December, the Belarusian leader asked Russian President Vladimir Putin to place Oreshnik on the territory of the republic , since Minsk is “very concerned” about the situation on the western borders of Belarus and in Ukraine.

The Russian President stated that the deployment of the Oreshnik missile systems in Belarus is possible as early as the second half of 2025. According to him, by that time Russia will be able to establish its serial production, and the weapons will be supplied to the Russian Strategic Missile Forces and will be simultaneously deployed in Belarus.

Russian President Vladimir Putin announced the first use of Oreshnik on November 21, 2024.

The strike was carried out by ballistic missiles with non-nuclear hypersonic equipment on the Southern Machine-Building Plant in Dnepropetrovsk. This was a response to the attacks of the Ukrainian Armed Forces using Western missiles on the territories of the Bryansk and Kursk regions.
