Vandals desecrate grave of French politician Jean-Marie Le Pen

The published photos show vandals destroying a grave cross and tearing out flowers from the politician's grave in a cemetery in his hometown of La Trinité-sur-Mer. The family burial site also contains the politician's father and mother.

The media reports that the attack took place on Friday night, and the cemetery was temporarily closed to visitors. The local prosecutor's office and gendarmerie have launched an investigation.

Le Pen passed away on January 7 at the age of 96.
