Novovoronezh NPP hired over 200 new employees in 2024

The largest number of young people joined such production shops as reactor and turbine shop No. 2 (power unit No. 4), reactor shops of power units No. 5 and 6, electrical shop, thermal automation and measurements shop, radiation safety department, metal flaw detection and technical control department, nuclear safety and reliability department.

Novovoronezh NPP successfully trains personnel for Russian and foreign nuclear power plants, the construction of which is currently actively underway in Turkey and Bangladesh. The construction of power unit No. 8 of Novovoronezh NPP will begin soon. We are opening new horizons for employees and, especially, for young people, we are interested in the influx of new specialists to implement large-scale projects," said Natalia Bodrova, Head of the HR Department of Novovoronezh NPP.
Currently, 4,156 employees work at the Novovoronezh NPP, their average age is 44 years. Almost a third of the team are young people under 35, for whom various corporate social programs are in place. Young employees are assisted in renting and purchasing their own housing, arranging their daily life, receive payments in connection with marriage, compensate for the costs of sports in city sections, and much more. Since 2024, housing rental compensation has increased to 100%. The interest-free loan for the initial payment on a mortgage has also increased, and the possibility of deferring the first payment has increased to three years.
The Rosatom State Corporation faces an ambitious task – to attract 300 thousand new employees to the nuclear industry by 2035. Novovoronezh NPP carries out a lot of work with educational institutions. With the support of NV NPP, the Novovoronezh Polytechnic Institute was transformed from a college into a university, where new training areas were opened. In 2021, the NVPI launched the specialty of "flaw detector" to train experts in the field of non-destructive testing who identify manufacturing defects and flaws. Upon completion of the training, which lasted for 3 years, the Novovoronezh NPP has already accepted the first two graduates of this specialty, four more are at the stage of registration and employment.
The Russian government and major Russian companies pay great attention to systematic work to unlock the potential of students and young employees. Rosatom and its enterprises participate in the creation of basic departments in Russian universities, the implementation of scholarship support programs, large educational projects, the organization of practical training and internships for students with their subsequent employment. Young specialists acquire new useful skills, which helps them in career growth.
