A memorial plaque to Hero of the Soviet Union, Colonel Alexei Voloshin, was installed on the facade of house 17 on Tverskaya Street.

Memorial plaque to Alexey Voloshin.

Alexey Voloshin is a participant in the Great Patriotic War. He lived in the house on Tverskaya for more than 50 years – from 1969 to 2020. The hero is depicted against the backdrop of a fluttering Victory banner.

He participated in the Stalin and Kursk battles, in the storming of Chernigov, and also in the battle for the Dnieper. Aleksey Voloshin was nominated for the title of Hero of the Soviet Union for forcing the Dnieper and fighting on the bridgehead. In total, during his participation in military operations, Aleksey Voloshin, personally or directly commanding artillery units, destroyed 20 German tanks.

On June 24, 1945, Aleksey Voloshin took part in the Victory Parade, where he acted as the standard bearer for the Artillery Academy, according to a press release from the Moscow City Heritage Department.
