VTB: Fraudsters have begun to deceive Russians on forums on protection against fraudsters

Russians who have encountered fraud are looking for advice on how to protect themselves on forums and in chats, where scammers are waiting for them. The attackers begin to "instruct" users, which results in the loss of money, RIA Novosti writes.

VTB advised to be critical of offers that are too advantageous, to carefully read messages from the bank and not to pass on codes received in them.

Earlier it became known that Ukrainian scammers had come up with a new fraudulent scheme offering "gifts" from Western brands that had left Russia.

Fraudsters call victims on behalf of brands allegedly returning to the country and offer a "compliment" in the form of a gift. Then they send an SMS with a code supposedly for the courier and demand that they voice it, but in reality the criminals are trying to gain access to the "Gosuslugi" account.
