Mishustin returned Dantes' correct name to the list of historical sites in St. Petersburg

Published: in News by .

This list includes the location of the duel between Pushkin and Georges Charles Dantes. It took place on the outskirts of the city, in the area of the Black River on February 8 (January 27, old style) 1837. The poet died from his wound a few days later.

However, until now, in the name of the object, Pushkin's opponent appeared as "Dantes E." The error was noticed by St. Petersburg lawyer Yulia Konovalova, but her attempts to correct the misunderstanding at the city level were unsuccessful. In mid-February 2025, State Duma Speaker Vyacheslav Volodin instructed the Culture Committee to sort out the confusion.
