Financier Osyanin: Payment for electricity is planned to be collected according to the declared capacity

Published: in News by .

According to him, the Ministry of Energy is trying to curb the growth of electricity prices by switching to paying bills based on the maximum declared capacity (on the "take or pay" principle), rather than based on actual consumption, the Prime agency reports.

This will allow us to optimize the construction of networks and reduce costs for reserved and unclaimed capacities, as well as evenly distribute the load and reduce the likelihood of accidents and power outages.

Osyanin noted that the main goal of the new payment procedure is to increase the efficiency of electricity use and reduce the load on the power grid, the expert added.

The expert added that the implementation of this innovation may require the introduction of modern technologies for recording and transmitting data, including the installation of smart meters.

Let us recall that earlier in February it became known that the Ministry of Energy plans to introduce an updated mechanism for paying for electricity transmission services. As follows from the draft law, new consumers with a connected network capacity of at least 670 kW will pay for electricity based not on actual consumption, but on the maximum declared capacity.

It was noted that the project should come into force on July 1 of this year.
