Five agreements signed between Russia and Iraq during joint meeting

The results of the joint work were discussed by the Russian Minister of Energy Sergey Tsivilev, as the chairman of the Russian part of the commission, with the Prime Minister of the Republic of Iraq Mohammed Shia al-Sudani.
"Today we signed five agreements, and more than 11 are at various stages of development. We agreed to complete the signing of these documents as soon as possible," Tsivilev noted.
In turn, the Prime Minister emphasized Iraq’s desire to expand cooperation with the Russian side in a number of areas, including partnership and expertise in the field of artificial intelligence.
As reported on the website of the Russian Ministry of Energy, the countries continue to develop cooperation in the fuel and energy sector, in particular, in the oil and gas sector. The prospect of Russian companies participating in hydropower projects in Iraq is also being considered.
Joint work in the transport, logistics and educational spheres continues, and industrial cooperation is developing.
In addition, the Iraqi side positively responded to the invitation to take part in the celebration of the 80th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War.
Earlier, RG wrote that the volume of trade between Russia and Iraq increased by 30% by the end of 2024.
