Dean Vinogradov: Some pensioners will receive a smaller pension in March

According to him, this is due to the indexation that took place at the beginning of the year.

In January, pensions for most citizens were indexed by 7.3% – to the forecast inflation rate. But in fact, it was 9.5%. And in February, there was additional indexation.

"For February, the pension arrived not only increased by 9.5%, but also with an additional payment of 2.2% that was not received in January. There will be no such additional payment in March, so the total amount of payments will be smaller," RIA Novosti quotes the expert as saying.

At the same time, military pensioners will receive increased payments in March – they were additionally increased by 4.4%. In each specific case, the increase will depend on the rank, position, length of service and other parameters, Vinogradov added.

It was previously reported that from 2026, a non-declarative procedure for assigning an old-age pension will begin to operate in Russia. Currently, it is assigned only through an application that must be submitted on "Gosuslugi", in person at the Social Fund or at the MFC – a month before reaching retirement age.
