Russian brands remain the oldest: the average age is 16.9 years. Over seven months, 948 thousand cars were resold, more than a third (36.7%) of which are older than 20 years.

"Classics" of AvtoVAZ and front-wheel drive models of the 1990-2000s continue to hold leading positions. According to the results of July, the best-selling used car was the VAZ-2107.

The share of Russian cars under 5 years old accounts for less than 9%.

The average age of Japanese cars is 15.8 years. Sales totaled 839 thousand units, with about half of the cars coming to Russia used from Japan itself – mostly right-hand drive. More than 30% of such cars are over 20 years old.

Earlier, RG reported that sales of right-hand drive cars are gradually declining.

European brands are younger: average age is 13.4 years, sales volume is 692 thousand units. Volkswagen, Audi, BMW and Mercedes-Benz are most often found on the secondary market. Among them, 17.5% are over 20 years old, 9.8% are under 5 years old. Skoda is considered a relatively "young" brand.

Korean cars are on average 11.5 years old. 428 thousand cars were resold in January-July. The share of cars older than 20 years is only 7.7%, and more than 40% of cars are younger than 10 years.

Chinese cars are the newest on the market: the average age is 6.1 years. In seven months, 140 thousand cars were sold. More than 60% of Chinese cars on the secondary market are younger than 5 years old, and the share of cars older than 20 years is practically non-existent.

Experts note that the active phase of the "life" of Chinese cars on the secondary market in Russia is just beginning.
