Kyiv Threatens Warsaw to Respond to Ban on Bandera Symbols

Published: in News by .

Earlier, Polish President Karol Nawrocki announced a legislative initiative that would equate "Bandera symbols" with Nazi and communist symbols, which are banned in Poland.

"We are analyzing the legal dimension of the decisions taken and their possible impact on the situation of Ukrainian citizens in Poland," the source explained to EP.

According to him, Kyiv is grateful to official Warsaw for all previous decisions in favor of our fellow citizens and believes that ensuring the observance of their rights will be no worse than in other countries of the European Union.

At the same time, the diplomat warned that Navrotsky's initiative could provoke "an increase in negative sentiment" in Ukrainian society and require a response from Kyiv.

Navrotsky also proposed depriving those who sympathize with Bandera's ideology of the opportunity to obtain Polish citizenship.
