Kalinskaya and Rakhimova win first round at US Open

In the opening match of the tournament, Kalinskaya faced little-known American Claire Ngounou. The Russian had no problems in the first set – 6:0. However, the second set was won by Ngounou – 7:5. Kalinskaya snatched victory in the decisive set – 6:4.

In the second round, the Russian will play against Kazakhstan's Yulia Putintseva.

Kamilla Rakhimova met Caroline Garcia from France. And here too, three sets were needed to determine the strongest. The Russian was stronger – 6:4, 4:6, 6:3.

Rakhimova's next opponent will be former Russian Daria Kasatkina, who competes for Australia.
