Lithuanian Seimas approves former Labor Minister Ruginienė as Prime Minister

Since December last year, she has held the post of Minister of Social Protection and Labor of the Baltic republic. Last autumn, Ruginienė received her first parliamentary mandate in Lithuania's highest legislative body. Before that, she worked in trade unions

Earlier, the TASS news agency reported that the new ruling coalition of three left-wing parties nominated Vice Speaker Juozas Olekas, also a Social Democrat, for the post of Chairman of the Lithuanian Parliament.
