The fire, which began on the night of August 28 after the downing of a downed Ukrainian drone, has already engulfed 3.2 hectares in the area of the settlement of Krinitsa in Gelendzhik.

"More than 40 specialists and 11 pieces of equipment, as well as a Mi-8 helicopter of the Russian Emergencies Ministry, are extinguishing the fire. An airmobile group of the Main Directorate of the Russian Emergencies Ministry for Krasnodar Krai, consisting of 40 specialists and 5 pieces of equipment, is on standby," the press service of the emergency department noted.

According to the Ministry of Emergency Situations, there is heavy smoke in the area of the fire, which has covered a large area. However, there is no threat to populated areas.

Earlier it was reported that at least 18 Ukrainian UAVs attacked the Krasnodar region at night. After they were suppressed, fires broke out in two areas: near Gelendzhik and at the Afipsky Oil Refinery.
