Microsoft has announced the release date of the Windows 11 operating system. It will be released on October 5, 2021, according to a corporate blog.
It is noted that the free update to the OS will be gradual. At first it will be available only for new devices, and then for existing ones. This will take into account the hardware's compliance with all requirements that affect the update process.
“We expect all eligible devices to be eligible for a free upgrade to Windows 11 by mid-2022. If you have a Windows 10 PC that qualifies for the update, Windows Update will let you know when it's available. You can also check if Windows 11 is ready for your device by going to Settings > Windows Update and selecting Check for updates,” the message states.
It is known that Windows 11 has a new design and sounds. The Start menu is located in the center of the screen. Microsoft Teams chat is integrated into the Taskbar. It has DirectX12 Ultimate, DirectStorage and Auto HDR technologies. And Xbox Game Pass for PC or Ultimate, which provide access to more than a hundred games.
The creators note that Windows 11 is the most inclusive version of the OS. It improves the capabilities of the digital pen, touch and voice input.
The company also claims that Windows 11 improves device performance and efficient use of applications.
Let us remember that during the presentation of the OS on June 25 of this year, the corporation called the operating system update the largest in the last ten years.
