"It is important for us that applicants come to our universities and study not only to become artists," says the director of the Pushkin State Museum of Fine Arts. "We do not have restorers, curators, or art historians. This is an unpopular education now."

In her opinion, there will be no one to preserve the huge collections of the Pushkin and other museums in the near future. "The Pushkin Museum has wonderful collections, but if the situation does not change, there will be no one to preserve, support and restore them," she continued. "We need specialists who will continue to preserve our cultural heritage in order to pass it on to future generations. It is important that young people want to study professions that are key to preserving culture. Our task is to make our industry attractive to them."

Let us recall that the XI St. Petersburg International Forum of United Cultures will end on September 13. The theme of the forum this year is "Return to Culture – New Opportunities". The forum was attended by over 2.6 thousand participants from over 70 countries.
