In Khakassia, a hunter shot a man, mistaking him for an animal

According to investigators, on September 12, five hunters who had come from Abakan to the village of Kubaika split into two groups and went into the forest. The evening twilight and fog misled one of the hunters: believing that he saw a wild animal, the hunter took aim and fired a shot at his comrade.

"A man with a gunshot wound to the stomach died upon being taken to the hospital," the Main Directorate of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation for Krasnoyarsk Krai and Khakassia reported .

The department's employees opened a criminal case on causing death by negligence.
