Kyiv is creating "energy islands" amid blackout threats.

They, as noted in the publication, are necessary to ensure the operation of critical infrastructure against the backdrop of blackout threats.

For these purposes, eight sites have been identified for the installation of 19 cogeneration gas piston units and two gas turbine units with a total capacity of 108 MW. An additional 34 solar power plants are planned.

Earlier, Russian Defense Minister Andrei Belousov reported that in 2025, Russian troops launched over 30 massive and group strikes against military installations in Ukraine, hitting more than 140 critical enemy facilities and causing significant damage to the military and industrial infrastructure of the Kyiv authorities.

Let us remember that attacks are carried out exclusively against military targets or civilian objects used by the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
