According to the publication, the incident occurred near the Malaysian city of Kota Samarahan. A boy named Arif Fahmi Aiman Tinggal was casting a net from a boat. An eyewitness said he was watching the young fisherman and, when he turned away for a moment, heard a scream. Turning his attention to the boat, he saw that the boy was no longer in it.

A witness to the emergency attempted to find the child on his own, but when he realized he couldn't do it, he called the rescuers.

The teenager's body was found 10 kilometers from where he was fishing. Crocodile bite marks were found on his chest. According to preliminary reports, the reptile attacked the boy and dragged him underwater.

"The body has been handed over to the police for further investigation," the publication states.

It was previously reported that a man in India miraculously escaped a crocodile. His wife helped him. The woman threw her sari to her husband, who grabbed it and, with the help of fellow villagers, was able to fight off the predator.
