Iran has provided land to Russia for the construction of a railway corridor.

"About 34 kilometers have been handed over to the Russian company so that it can begin work," the minister told Iranian media.

She added that approximately half of the land needed for the 162-kilometer railway has already been purchased. This process is expected to be completed by mid-March next year.

The North-South International Transport Corridor will run from St. Petersburg to the Indian port of Mumbai. In addition to two land routes, sea and rail connections will also be used.
