US Produces Record Number of Javelin Missiles

The talk is about the delivery of more than 4,000 Javelin missiles to replenish stocks sent to Ukraine.
The US Army has awarded Javelin Joint Venture (JJV) a $1.3 billion contract for fiscal year 2024 to produce Javelin missiles and related equipment and services, the RTX Corporation press service reported yesterday.
The contract is said to be the largest ever for Javelin production, and is for weapons systems and production support for the U.S. military. The contract includes more than 4,000 Javelin missiles to replenish stocks sent to Ukraine.
“Now more than ever, Javelin is recognized as the most effective, combat-proven anti-tank weapon system in the world,” said Andy Amaro, Javelin program director at Raytheon, an RTX company.
The manufacturer currently has over 25 international customers. In total, over 50,000 Javelin missiles and over 12,000 reusable command launchers have been produced to date.
