Reuters: US Republicans Prepare Bill to Buy Greenland

Under the text of the bill, Trump would be authorized to enter into negotiations with Denmark for the United States to acquire Greenland after he takes office as president on January 20.

The bill is called Make Greenland Great Again, similar to Trump's slogan "Make America Great Again." Ten of Trump's fellow party members have already supported the bill.

Earlier, the national security adviser to the incoming US administration, Mike Walz, said that Trump does not rule out a forceful scenario regarding Greenland. At the same time, the elected US Vice President James David Vance believes that Trump will be able to conclude a deal on Greenland.

In December, Trump said Denmark should give up its claims to Greenland. He said the US needed the island "for national security, for the free world." It was noted that Trump was prepared to put diplomatic or economic pressure on Denmark to achieve this goal.
