Italy to Ban Burqa and Niqab

The authors of the bill justify its necessity by issues of security and protection of the constitutional principle of respect for women.

Failure to comply with this ban will result in serious penalties: a fine of up to 30,000 euros or imprisonment for up to two years. In addition, violators will lose the opportunity to obtain Italian citizenship.
