Mexico says it will build partnership with US under Trump

"On behalf of the Mexican government, I congratulate Donald Trump on his inauguration as the 47th President of the United States," she wrote on the social network X (formerly Twitter, blocked in Russia).

She pointed out that Mexico and the United States are neighbors and business partners, and "dialogue, respect and cooperation will always be the symbol of their relationship." Sheinbaum recalled that the two countries, as well as Canada, cooperate within the framework of a trilateral free trade agreement.

"Mexicans are very important to the United States economy, and the Trump administration knows this," the Mexican leader noted.

She stressed that the time for dialogue and cooperation will soon come when teams from both governments will meet to reach agreements on various issues, including migration, trade and security.
