Drivers were told which car parts suffer the most in winter

Road surfaces in all cities are treated with various reagents. These compounds, mixed with snow, have a negative effect on the body. Chemical particles remain on the elements, which are very harmful to paint and metal, Kukarin explained.

At the same time, the windshield often suffers in winter. When the heater is suddenly turned on during frost, a strong temperature difference occurs, which can cause the glass to become cracked.

The radiator is no less susceptible to damage in winter. Snow and dirt penetrate through the bumper grille and get stuck in it, reducing its service life. Another common problem is careless parking, when motorists reverse all the way into a snowdrift. Such collisions lead to damage to plastic bumpers, because the material becomes less elastic in frost and is highly susceptible to destruction.

The absence of protective screens for the engine and gearbox underneath the vehicle means that these components can be mechanically damaged by ice debris and hardened snow.

Do not forget to keep the interior clean in winter, because the car interior also wears out from snow and reagents. Moisture residues from shoes, brushes and clothes settle on the carpets and coverings. Most often, this results in stains from a mixture of water and reagents on velour or leather, as well as oxidation on bolts, fasteners and electrical wiring.
