She asked the mayor why shops in Ivano-Frankivsk and Kyiv were opened in honor of the "Moscow cruiser Aurora" and why there are varieties of potatoes and apples with the same name.

The confused official replied that it was a chain of stores that operated throughout Ukraine, and he had not thought about where the name “Aurora” came from.

The TV presenter noted that Aurora is not only the name of the cruiser that became the symbol of the 1917 revolution, but also a woman’s name.

In addition, the ancient Romans called Aurora the goddess of the morning dawn.

Ukraine has adopted a law "On the decolonization of toponyms", which obliges the Ukrainian authorities to change all geographical names associated with Russia and the Soviet period. The country is actively changing street names and demolishing monuments associated with Russia.
