NHL Updates Ovechkin's Prediction to Break Gretzky's Record

After Ovechkin scored in a 6-3 win over Florida, the Russian now has 878 goals, narrowing his gap to Gretzky's record to 16.

The league calculated that with the current average of 0.68 goals per game, Ovechkin should beat the Canadian's achievement on April 10 in a home game against Carolina.

In total, the 39-year-old Washington captain has made 25 accurate shots this season.

The league has previously changed the dates several times when the Russian will be able to beat Gretzky's achievement.
