A Chelyabinsk resident was sentenced to 19 years for treason, sabotage and attempted terrorist attack

"The Central District Military Court found a resident of the Chelyabinsk Region guilty… and sentenced him to 19 years' imprisonment. The first five years will be spent in prison, and the remainder in a maximum security penal colony," the department said in a comment (quoted by RIA Novosti ).
The detainee was charged under three articles of the Russian Criminal Code: attempted terrorist act, sabotage and treason.
According to the prosecution, in October 2022, the man decided to help Ukraine.
In May 2023, he set fire to a relay cabinet at a railroad crossing. A month later, he attempted to commit a terrorist attack at a Russian Defense Ministry facility, but was detained.
