The head of the city recalled that, on the instructions of the president and with the support of the country's prime minister, the stadium was transferred to Bauman Moscow State Technical University, and the city took on the task of renovating it. "And so, on the site of a depressed area, a modern sports center has been created as a gift to Baumanka for the start of the school year," Sobyanin said. "Good luck to you, success," he wished the students, who were already busy renovating the field with artificial grass and heating. "We held a couple of training sessions here, the surface is great, very soft, it's not scary to fall on it," Yegor Kuvshinov, captain of the student rugby team, told a correspondent of "RG." "The stands are also very great – a lot of people will come, it's more interesting to play when people support us."

The updated sports complex is also liked by the MSTU rugby coach Denis Korolev: "Everything is done in accordance with the requirements of the International Rugby Federation. The markings, rugby goals, it is possible to hold full-fledged matches not only for students, but also for higher levels." Korolev can be trusted, because for seven years he headed the CSKA rugby club. Having grown to such heights from amateur sports, he attaches great importance to sports in the lives of young people. "Two years ago, we launched a project at our university, the goal of which is not to make guys who are passionate about sports choose what to devote themselves to – sports or some profession," he says. "We open up two roads for them that go in parallel – the opportunity to get a good technical education and at the same time develop professionally in sports, since our team plays in the second professional league of Russia. They will make the final choice of what to do in life by the end of their studies."

Two parallels, therefore, and double the workload. But the students cope – in the morning, before lectures, the guys go to training, and in the evening, after classes – training again. And at the same time, there are no concessions for athletes, noted the rector of Bauman Moscow State Technical University Mikhail Gordin: "Unless they can take the exam earlier than others or a little later, if it coincides with a competition." At one time, he graduated from Baumanka and remembers what kind of broken stands and old, worn-out surface the stadium had. "I'm happy for the guys that things are completely different for them now."

The soft surface does not bother the football players either. "It's great to play on it," said first-year student Konstantin Ason – their team was kicking the ball around on the other side of the field from the rugby players. When entering the university, Kostya chose Baumanka not only because it is the best technical university in the country, but also because he knows that it has a good football team – it travels around the country, plays in the national student league. He played football for seven years at school and wants to continue doing it. And he is very glad that all the conditions for this are there. The new modern administrative and household complex has a gym, wrestling, yoga, gymnastics, and several multi-purpose halls. Comfortable locker rooms, coaches' rooms, and a first aid station.

You can go out to the stadium and just walk around, meet someone, take part in a celebration or listen to a concert – the central square is designed for this purpose. It is decorated with an unusual layout of tiles that resemble broken ice floes – the designers chose this image to visually connect the stadium with the Baumanka campus, one of the new buildings of which is built in the form of an icebreaker. A stage can be installed under a special tent on this square, and a pavilion-cafe with a summer terrace is located nearby.

Sobyanin reminded that the renovated Metallurg should always be open to residents of nearby houses, and become their home stadium, as well as for students. The builders have also provided everything for this: the old hockey rink was turned into a scientific playground, and rest areas were equipped for parents. A special area was equipped with outdoor exercise machines and workout complexes, including a frame for classes in the style of "Russian Ninja". And in the physical education and health complex you can play table tennis, mini-football or basketball.
