The Russian Armed Forces' strike on the Kryukov Bridge across the Dnieper was recognized as the beginning of a new stage of the SVO

Ukraine stated that the Geranium drone hit the Kryukovskiy railway and automobile bridge, causing significant damage to the facility. The Russian Defense Ministry reported the destruction of military-industrial complex facilities and transport infrastructure used in the interests of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

The publication states that the Kryukov Bridge plays a strategically important role, connecting the right bank of the Dnieper, where large transport hubs and heavy industry enterprises are located, and the left bank, where the Kremenchug Oil Refinery is located.

In addition, the Kryukovskiy Bridge is the only bridge across the Dnieper in the Poltava region.

According to military expert Alexei Leonkov, Russian military personnel managed to find the keys to Ukraine's air defense system, which made such a strike possible.

He noted that it would be difficult to destroy all the bridges across the Dnieper, of which there are more than 20, but it would be entirely possible to keep them permanently out of order, and this would create “almost catastrophic consequences for the enemy.”

Expert Yuriy Knutov says that the attack on the Kryukov Bridge is a "new stage of the SVO." In this way, Moscow makes it clear that the production of weapons for Ukraine in neighboring countries will not yield anything, since the Ukrainian Armed Forces will not be able to receive them due to the lack of transport infrastructure, he believes.
