It was reported that the unusual package was sent to the parliamentarians by Pierre Guiraud, a resident of the town of Lodève in Occitanie, nicknamed "Pierrot le Zigot." The man himself explained his gesture as a result of his dissatisfaction with the behavior of the National Assembly members.

"Some shout, others slump in their chairs, refuse to shake hands, insult each other… They're not all like that, but there are quite a lot of them," Le Zigot explained.

This isn't the first time the Frenchman has resorted to such actions. In 2019, he sent pajamas to the imprisoned former mayor of Levallois-Perret, Patrick Balkany, and in 2016, he staged a protest at the former headquarters of the French Socialist Party.

The man himself has also repeatedly participated in various elections. In particular, he ran for election to the Lodève County Legislative Assembly in 2012.

It was not specified how the parcel was used in the National Assembly or whether the deputies received it at all.
