Six-time Grammy Award winner Joel Moss has died of an aneurysm.

Moss died in the resort town of Saratoga Springs, New York. His family reported that he died of an aneurysm, according to MSN.

Born in 1946 in Detroit, Joel Moss began his career in the 1960s and is primarily known as a producer and engineer who has worked with a number of stars.

He began performing at the age of 12, with Canadian and American bands. While a student at the University of Minnesota, he worked with the state orchestra and produced Detroit rock 'n' roll bands.

Having moved to Los Angeles in 1969, he worked with Little Richard, Joe Cocker and Johnny Cash, The Eagles, Talking Heads and Red Hot Chili Peppers.

Since 1986, he has been the head of The Record Plant studio. In 1997, the artist founded his own company, Manarga Music, focusing on jazz and theater music. Since the 1970s, he has worked extensively in film and is known for his work on musicals, including Broadway, and operas.
