An eight-year-old schoolgirl from Dagestan rescued her seven-year-old neighbor from a lake.

Eight-year-old Zalma, a resident of the Khunzakh district, was walking by the lake with her sister. Her seven-year-old neighbor also came there to go sledding.

When the boy stepped onto the ice, it cracked. The child tried to get out, but couldn't grab the slippery ice.

"Everyone saw several children, but only Zalma rushed to help," the publication says.
